Dance Lessons: Gift

Each Advent I remember Christmases past– loved ones absent from festivities but present in memory; simpler times when my only job was to count the days til December 25th; and favorite gifts given and received (mostly the latter). This Advent I am especially grateful for dance. But I’m learning that dance itself is only the wrapping for a gift more beautiful still.

 

As with all gifts, it’s not the object but the glimpse of the giver’s heart the gift reveals. Dance is a seemingly insignificant desire of my heart. But receiving this gift increases my faith in a God who loves me and values my desires great and small. I find that my joy in dance is further exceeded by my delight in my God. Read rest of blog...
